"I'm a cis woman who rarely questioned her gender, even though I’ve always leaned toward a more tomboyish side and was often associated with masculinity. I’ve always felt like a woman, yet many people I’ve encountered felt entitled to ask about my gender or sexual orientation. Sometimes even complete strangers would stop me in the street with the blunt question: “Sorry, are you a man or a woman?” To this day, I still struggle with these disrespectful behaviors and intrusive questions. That’s why being a model, being chosen for my natural beauty — androgynous or not — feels so empowering. It reminds me that I should never have to doubt myself."
